Default Tunning Help

I apologize in advance if this is an already discussed topic but for some reason I can only see the sticky posts and the first post in every category.

I just bought a 93 Z28 and would like to connect it to a scanner to make sure everything is running properly. I have reason to suspect otherwise like a somewhat rough idle and some back firing when letting off throttle. Not to mention all the crap the previous owner had going on under the hood.

Help me on my way to getting a smooth running f-body. What scan tool should I look into, supposedly there is a hypertech tune on it but the previous owner didn't have it anymore.

Disregard my last post, or delete it, I found the FAQ page and it answered a lot of my questions. These 93s really are something special from what I gather. Thanks again for any help.
